Privacy statement

UnitingWorld’s fundraising policy undertakes to observe the Uniting Church in Australia’s Privacy Policy which has been adopted by the Assembly in order to comply with the requirements of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). You can read the full version of the Assembly's Privacy Policy here.

Donors’ Rights

In all fundraising activities initiated or authorised by UnitingWorld the rights of donors and supporters will be respected and protected. Amongst other considerations the Privacy Act 1988 will be fully observed. The rights of donors and supporters will be protected by:

  • Having their names deleted from mailing lists on request;
  • Being advised of any intention to share the mailing list with any other organisation, and not providing their names to the other organisation, on request;
  • Being informed whether people seeking donations are volunteers, staff or agents;
  • Being informed about the causes for which funds are being raised;
  • Being informed about the application of donations; and
  • Being able to identify any collectors, and having access to documentation confirming the bona fides of UnitingWorld’s fundraising unit.
